Hello, and thank you for visiting the DBE in Connecticut website. We hope you like what you’ve seen while browsing and are now eager to meet our friendly group.

The DBE in Connecticut provides opportunities to meet and have a chat over a cup of tea while sharing experiences of living in the USA and memories of our homelands.

Fundraising for local charities, particularly those that support vulnerable seniors, is a fundamental part of our mission.

While each Chapter holds its own social events and fundraisers, the Board holds events to celebrate occasions such as the recent Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and the Coronation of King Charles III. In 2025, we held a gathering for members and friends to celebrate our Founders Day as well as the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. On each occasion, we enjoyed a lovely afternoon buffet consisting mostly of homemade traditional tea goodies. This year we plan to join our host country in celebrating the 250th year of its Independence.

Our teas are so popular that members decided we should host more, maybe following our monthly meetings or perhaps for no particular reason other than to have tea.

The State Board warmly welcomes women with British and Commonwealth connections. We very much hope that you will join the DBE and help us to continue to achieve our aims.

Cheers!
